Pei-Chien Tsai received a bachelor degree in Agricultural Chemistry from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan in June 2002. She enrolled in the Microbiology program in NTU at the same year and completed her master degree, working on protein engineering of a biodegradable plastic synthetase produced by bacteria in 2004. She was employed as a research assistant in NTU hospital and focused on a factor in blood which could be used to estimate prognosis of human lung cancer.
She is now a Ph.D. graduate student in the Comparative Biomedical Science program with a cell biology concentration. She has been with the lab since 2005. Her project is primarily focused on establishing a clinically relevant cytogenetic scheme for canine lymphoma and offering reliable prognostic information to veterinarians and owners. She is also intereted in the comparative genetic information shared between canine and human lymphoma as a means to aid tumor sub-classification, finding makers of tumor progression, prognosis and treatment.
Pei-Chien loves hiking, watching TV and movies, reading and travel in her free time.
